Maine Medical Center Parking GarageShaw Brothers Construction was awarded the site work portion of the Maine Medical Parking Garage and Hospital Expansion Project in August of 2005. Located within the center of Maine’s busiest hospital campus this project presented many challenges from relocating existing utilities without disrupting hospital operations to building a parking garage into an existing hill. Falmouth Elementary SchoolThe site of the Falmouth elementary school project was nestled between the existing high school and the middle school. This project incorporated numerous phases of construction as the existing schools were in session. Mill at Saco FallsShaw Brothers Construction was awarded the site work portion of the reconstruction of the existing Lincoln Mill. Due to the proximity of the mill to the tightly knit surrounding buildings, scheduling of the various trades proved a logistical challenge. In addition, existing field conditions required the use of hydraulic hammers in almost all areas of excavation in order to remove the large amount of ledge from which the site sat on. Read More » |

University of New England Turf Field (Biddeford)The University of New England’s new synthetic turf field was constructed in just over 3 months, over the short 2010 summer break and will be utilized by the university for field hockey, soccer and lacrosse. The site work included clearing and grubbing, ledge removal, installation of a complex underdrain system to drain the field, and installation of the second NCAA college blue synthetic turf field in the country.
